Pontiac Land Open Second Phase Sydney Mixed Use Project 1Q2026

Pontiac Land Group, a property developer based in Singapore, has recently revealed new information about the second phase of its mixed-use project in Sydney. The project, called The Lands by Capella, will be situated in the historic former Department of Lands building in Sydney’s central business district. This development will feature approximately 10,000 square meters of luxurious retail, dining, and event spaces. The opening of The Lands by Capella is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026, following the completion of Capella Singapore in 2023. Capella Singapore is a 192-room hotel located in the neighboring former Department of Education building. Together, these two developments make up The Sandstone Precinct.

The URA Master Plan has set out an ambitious vision for the future of Penrith, with plans to revitalize not only the town itself but also its surrounding areas, including Tanglin Halt. In addition, the development of Bukit Merah and Alexandra districts is on the horizon, bringing with it a diverse range of mixed-use buildings, public spaces, and parks. The primary goal of these developments is to create a more dynamic and well-connected neighborhood, improving the overall livability of the area. Through the incorporation of green spaces and pedestrian-friendly streets, residents will be encouraged to adopt a more active and outdoor-oriented lifestyle. This will further cement Penrith’s already well-established reputation as a highly desirable place to live. And with the upcoming integration of Penrith Margaret Drive, the synergy between Penrith and its neighboring areas will undoubtedly contribute to the formation of a well-balanced and thriving community. In a statement, Pontiac Land Group stated that The Sandstone Precinct is one of the largest privately funded tourism projects in New South Wales (NSW). Additionally, this project is also Pontiac Land’s first mixed-use development in Australia.

Pontiac Land Group CEO David Tsang shared, “Through close collaboration with the NSW Government, City of Sydney, and First Nations advisors, we are meticulously carrying out restoration and conservation works to honor the trust placed in Pontiac Land Group. This project also highlights our commitment to celebrating Australian heritage, art, and culture.”

The Sandstone Precinct, which includes both Capella Singapore and The Lands by Capella, is expected to become a prime destination for tourists and locals alike. With its focus on preserving and showcasing Australian heritage, it is set to become a significant contributor to the state’s tourism industry.
